Having been rescued from a life of servitude to Bartok the slaver by Tey Spires, Zealos Reil, Luis Santiago and Fiola Shaku, Cali joined the group aboard the Long Shot, accompanying them to Ryloth, where a run-in with another slaving group revealed a vengeful, murderous streak in the girl.
Cali escaped Ryloth aboard the Emigrant with the others (joined by Tam Dawncaller), but is mistrustful of Fi, whom she believes wants the credits they stole from the Ryloth slavers for herself. Fi, on the other hand, is simply concerned about Cali's apparent bloodlust, and fears for the girl's sanity.
